Without Those Songs - The Script

    How Music Shapes Us

This is such a thought-provoking song when I first listened to it. It made me rather nostalgic because I ponder songs or hold on to songs from moment to moment. I know full well that I'm not the only person who feels or reflects this way. I run back to songs depending on my mood, and I believe this song seems like the perfect song to jump off our song of the day series.

The chorus is the crux of the impact I have for this song:

    The beauty of their lives
Is when they're dead and gone
    The world still sings along
    When anything went right
    When anything went wrong
They put it in a song

Music has been with us from time immemorial and has shaped cultures, history, decades, and many lives. The expression of music has formed so many of our views on subjects such as love, justice, pain, joy, and so many abstract emotions and thoughts. There are times in my life I find a song that tells my story or a moment in my life better than I could have expressed it.

I chuckle pondering how people used to have phone calls (on a house phone, obviously) and they would play a song on the other end, dedicating it to their significant other or someone they're trying to woe.

The question we have for you today is:

What would life look like for you if there were no music or songs?
